Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1940 Ford COUPE recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1940 Ford COUPE problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Additional Description: Phenomenal Ford Coupe - Ford 302/C4 Transmission - Chopped and Sectioned with flawless results - Magazine Featured - Award Winner - (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) This is hands down one of the coolest, cleanest, and unique builds we've ever seen. You won't find another one like it, nor one completed to this degree of perfection. Garage Kept Motors is pleased to present this one-of-one 1940 Ford 2-Door Sedan Resto-Mod for consideration. No matter where this car is shown, it demands attention and accolades, most recently at Good Guys Nationals in Columbus. Another tribute to the car was an article in Issue No. 4 of Hot Rods and Harleys Magazine (see photos), titled "Slim's '40." The article explains how Doug Klann, aka Slim, designed and built this remarkable vehicle with our client and vehicle owner, Mr. McAnallen, financing the build. After much deliberation about the design, Slims Body Works started a major overhaul of the original 1940 body. The roof was pancaked 1.5 inches with the windshield laid paid 45 degrees. The back of the body was moved forward to achieve that desirable fastback look. The front cowl was sectioned 2 inches, the hood was sectioned 2.5 inches and the trunk was lowered 6 inches. The design is documented on the framed photo we have accompanying the car. It is seamless with zero flaws. The frame was custom built by Slims with 8-inch Ford housing with Limited Slip Differential, 3.50:1 Ratio, Independent Front Suspension, 4 Link Rear Suspension, 13-inch Baer Brakes, Stainless Steel Brake Lines, and full RideTech Air Suspension system. The body is all Ford Steel. Wheels are 17x7 in the front and 10x20 in the rear. The engine is a Ford 302 with 340 horsepower, fully balanced, with a C-4 Transmission, Electronic Ignition, BeCool Radiator with custom aluminum, and Fully Polished 2.5-inch Stainless Steel Exhaust. The dashboard is fully custom with a 1940 Steering Wheel finished off with Classic Instruments gauges. Dan Armstrong of Slim's Body Works did the deep Black paint job that is mirror finish. Proud builders paint their cars black and this vehicle is no exception. The interior was designed by Gary Constable and finished by Auto Interior Design of Saginaw, MI. This is a phenomenal vehicle - the cleanest 1940 Ford we've ever seen. One of our favorite clients, a classic car builder himself, has already commented: "this car is the real deal." With over $250k invested, you simply cannot replicate this car for the price offered here. We are still open to offers though so call or e-mail if interested.
