Additional Description: The St. Louis Car Museum is proud to offer a sharp 50s Cadillac finished in the factory color combination of French Gray over a complimentary two-tone Blue Leather interior! The vehicle showcases a beautifully maintained older restoration with an original, number's matching drivetrain. In addition, this classic Cadillac has long term previous ownership history that shows recent servicing and tune-up documentation! This is a rare opportunity as this particular vehicle represents 1 of only 6,986 Series 62 convertible coupes built in the year of 1950! History of the 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe: It was in 1948 when Cadillac saw its first major post-war redesign, which was inspired by an aircraft design that can be seen across all models, and the first visible rear tailfins on the fenders. In 1949, an all-new OHV V8 engine would find its way under the hood, which would go on to prove to be one of the industry's most successful, long-lived engines! The new highly appreciated motors were not just smaller and lighter, they also provided higher compression and a total of 160 horsepower with 312 lb. ft. of torque. The 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, along with the new one-piece windshields and revised body lines that showcased longer hoods and an overall lower stance, would all become standard equipment in 1950. A look Cadillac would savor all throughout the 1950s! Details about this 1950 Cadillac Series 62 For Sale: Offered here is a beautiful 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe finished in factory code correct 10- French Gray over 52- Dark & Light Blue Leather interior! It's original, number's matching 331ci V8 engine lies under the hood faithfully fitted with a factory Carter WCD dual downdraft carburetor, Delco-Remy 6-volt generator charging system, oil bath air cleaner, and a Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission. Additional features include power convertible top & windows, full dash instrumentation, Syncro-Matic Selector AM Radio with a rear seat speaker, front & rear bumper guards, fender skirts, reverse lights, Guide glare-proof rearview mirror, automatic heater, period-correct BF Goodrich Silvertown 8.20-15 wide whitewall tires, full wheel covers, front fog lamps, license plate frames, and a windshield washer system! Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1950 Cadillac SERIES 62 recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
