Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1983 Mercedes-Benz 240 recalls can be found in this database. Additional Description: This 1983 Mercedes-Benz 240D is an honest to goodness ONE-OWNER vehicle. Purchased new in New York, it spent the majority of it's life in sunny Arizona and Florida. It's escaped the rust issues that plague older vehicles and is very solid all the way around. It's been a daily driver over the years, so it's been properly maintained by local Mercedes specialists. The 2.4L naturally aspirated DIESEL motor won't win you any drag races, but it's leak free and runs properly. Our technician gave it a clean bill of health after replacing the alternator, battery, and charging the AC with R-134 refrigerant. He also performed an oil and filter service, and remedied a vacuum leak. The mechanicals are rock solid in typical Mercedes-Benz W123 fashion. Tires, brakes, and running gear all checked out as well. It feels great on the road, and is happy to chug along at 75 mph all day. This one is equipped with power windows and a power sunroof (THEY ALL WORK!!!). The AC blows cold as well. Finished in classic white, the exterior looks great for the age and mileage. There is evidence of previous paint work here and there, but it shows nicely. Inside you'll find navy blue MB-tex upholstery that still looks great. The drivers side seat bolster is starting to show some wear, but what a testament to the build quality in these cars. The dash has a velour cover, and there are several cracks underneath. The dash is still very presentable and a pre-fitted dash cover would be an easy remedy. For those familiar with the legendary W123 chassis, you'll agree there really isn't anything quite like this car. We've tried our best to describe the car honestly in light of the age and mileage. It's a great car with an amazing story! We would LOVE to tell you more about it and answer any questions you might have. Please get in touch with us!
